Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 1, 2026 · Last Updated: May 29, 2026

Kineration is a family life organization platform designed to help households manage calendars, tasks, meals, shopping lists, goals, habits, health and wellness information, faith activities, journals, finances, relationships, caregiver coordination, yearly planning, communication, memories, family history, travel, reunions, and community-related collaboration. This Privacy Policy explains how Kineration collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects information when people use the Kineration website, applications, and related services.

This Privacy Policy was last reviewed May 29, 2026. Questions or rights requests: privacy@kineration.com.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

This Privacy Policy applies to visitors, account holders, family members added to an account, invited collaborators, caregivers, and other people whose information is submitted to Kineration through the service.

When a primary account holder adds another family member, enters information about a child, or uploads information about another person, that account holder represents that they have the authority to do so and to share that information with Kineration.

2. Information Kineration May Collect

Depending on how the service is configured and used, Kineration may collect the following categories of information:

  • Account and profile information: names, usernames, passwords, email addresses, phone numbers, family roles, profile photos, birthdays, anniversaries, and account preferences.
  • Family management data: calendar events, schedules, reminders, tasks, chores, meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, goals, habits, yearly plans, reunion plans, family tree data, family bios, and household notes.
  • Sensitive or high-risk content entered by users: journal entries, prayer requests, devotional activity, relationship milestones, health and wellness notes, medical information, caregiver notes, financial data, budgeting records, bills, investments, and legacy or memorial content.
  • Communications and content: messages, posts, comments, uploaded files, emails routed through the platform, voice entries, photos, stories, and memory content.
  • Travel and community data: trip plans, itineraries, saved places, local sharing activity, neighborhood participation, carpools, and meal-train coordination.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, app version, log data, pages viewed, feature usage, session information, crash data, cookies, and similar technologies.
  • Transaction and subscription data: billing contact details, plan type, payment status, and limited payment-related records. Payment card details should be processed by a PCI-compliant payment processor rather than stored directly by Kineration.
  • Contact and invitation data: address book information or contact details uploaded or entered to invite other users, caregivers, relatives, or community members, if the user chooses to provide them.
  • Location data: general location inferred from IP address and, where enabled by the user, more precise location data for travel planning, family coordination, or community features.

3. How Information Is Collected

Kineration may collect information:

  • Directly from users when they create an account, complete profiles, upload content, send invitations, subscribe, contact support, or use features.
  • Automatically through cookies, pixels, log files, device identifiers, analytics tools, and similar technologies.
  • From other family members or authorized users who add information to a family workspace.
  • From service providers that support hosting, analytics, communications, customer support, security, billing, authentication, or payment processing.

4. How Kineration Uses Information

Kineration may use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the service.
  • Create and manage user accounts and family workspaces.
  • Deliver feature functionality such as reminders, scheduling, communication, travel planning, budgeting tools, memory storage, and caregiver coordination.
  • Personalize content, recommendations, and family dashboards.
  • Send transactional messages, service announcements, security alerts, and support responses.
  • Process subscriptions, invoices, and payments.
  • Monitor usage, troubleshoot problems, prevent fraud, and protect the security and integrity of the platform.
  • Enforce legal terms and comply with applicable law.
  • Develop new tools, automations, and product improvements.
  • With appropriate consent where required, send newsletters, marketing communications, or promotional updates.

Kineration may also use de-identified or aggregated information for analytics, reporting, benchmarking, and product development, provided that such information cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual.

5. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal information, Kineration may rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, compliance with legal obligations, and protection of vital interests.

6. Children's Privacy

Kineration is intended to support families, which means users may choose to store information about children. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule applies to operators of websites or online services directed to children under 13, as well as operators with actual knowledge that they are collecting personal information online from a child under 13.

Congress passed COPPA and the FTC's rule was revised in 2012, and the FTC states that children under 13 should not share personal information online without express parental approval.

If Kineration permits the creation of profiles, accounts, or content relating to children under 13, Kineration should implement a COPPA-compliant parental notice and verifiable parental consent workflow before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from those children.

Until such a workflow is fully implemented, Kineration does not knowingly allow children under 13 to create their own accounts or directly submit personal information without verified parental or guardian authorization.

Parents or legal guardians may request to review, correct, or delete a child's personal information, or withdraw consent for further collection or use, subject to legal and operational limitations consistent with applicable law.

7. Health, Financial, Faith, and Other Sensitive Data

Some Kineration features may involve highly sensitive information, including health details, budgeting data, journal content, prayer requests, relationship notes, and family legacy records. Users should only upload information they are comfortable storing digitally and should avoid entering information prohibited by law or subject to organizational restrictions unless Kineration expressly supports compliant handling for that data category.

Kineration does not represent that it is a HIPAA-covered entity, financial advisor, bank, fiduciary, therapist, religious institution, emergency service, or official records custodian unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement.

7a. Financial Data Practices

Kineration may integrate with third-party financial services (such as Plaid for bank connections and Stripe for payments) to provide budgeting, invoicing, and payment features. When you connect a bank account or process a payment:

  • Bank credentials are handled exclusively by the third-party provider (e.g., Plaid) and are never stored by Kineration.
  • Transaction data retrieved from connected accounts is stored within your private family workspace and is not shared with other users or families.
  • Payment card details are processed by PCI-DSS compliant payment processors (e.g., Stripe) and are never stored on Kineration's servers.
  • All sensitive financial actions (connecting accounts, sending payments, processing refunds) are recorded in an internal audit log for security monitoring.

7b. Health and Wellness Data

Kineration provides optional features for tracking personal health and wellness information, including food logs, exercise records, body measurements, medications, hormone cycles, wellness plans, and healthcare provider information. Regarding this data:

  • Health data is stored within your private family workspace and is only accessible to family members you have invited.
  • Kineration does not share health data with insurers, employers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing or profiling purposes.
  • Health data entered into Kineration is self-reported personal wellness information, not clinical medical records under HIPAA.
  • Access to health data by family members is logged in the security audit trail.
  • You may request deletion of all health data at any time through the "Delete My Data" feature in Settings.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Kineration may use cookies and similar technologies to remember user preferences, keep users signed in, understand feature usage, measure site performance, support analytics, and improve the service.

Users may be able to manage cookies through browser settings, device controls, or consent tools made available through the website, although disabling certain cookies may affect functionality.

9. How Information May Be Shared

Kineration may share information:

  • With service providers and contractors that perform services on Kineration's behalf, subject to contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
  • With other people in the same family workspace, group, trip, reunion, or community space as directed by user settings and sharing actions.
  • With caregivers, invitees, or community participants when a user chooses to share content or coordinate activities.
  • In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction.
  • To comply with law, legal process, or government requests.
  • To protect rights, safety, security, property, users, and the public.
  • With consent or at the direction of the user.

Kineration does not sell personal information in exchange for money unless it specifically states otherwise at the time of collection. If applicable law defines "sale" or "sharing" broadly for cross-context behavioral advertising, Kineration should disclose those practices separately and provide any required opt-out rights.

10. Data Retention

Kineration may retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain account history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and support legitimate business operations.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data, the sensitivity of the data, the user's settings, backup practices, legal requirements, and whether deletion requests have been received.

11. Security

Kineration uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. These safeguards include:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) for all data communications.
  • Role-based access controls and family-scoped data isolation.
  • Automatic session timeout after 15 minutes of inactivity for financial and health data protection.
  • Audit logging of sensitive actions including access to financial data, health records, child profiles, and payment processing.
  • Authentication via secure token-based sessions managed by the platform.
  • Third-party payment and banking integrations that are PCI-DSS and SOC 2 compliant (Stripe, Plaid).

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and Kineration cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. User Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, users may have rights to:

  • Access personal information held about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your personal data — you can submit a deletion request directly from the Settings page using the "Delete My Data" feature, or by emailing privacy@kineration.com. Requests are processed within 30 days.
  • Export or receive a portable copy of your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Opt out of certain marketing communications.
  • Appeal a denied privacy rights request where required by law.

Kineration may need to verify identity before processing certain requests. Some data required for legal compliance, billing records, or active contractual obligations may be retained as permitted by applicable law, even after a deletion request.

13. California Privacy Notice

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate information, the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

Kineration does not sell personal information for money. Kineration does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise California privacy rights, contact privacy@kineration.com. We will respond within 45 days as required by law.

14. International Users

Kineration is primarily designed for users in the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different privacy protections than your home country. By using Kineration, you consent to this transfer.

15. Third-Party Services and Links

The service may contain integrations, payment processors, maps, travel providers, email services, analytics providers, or links to third-party websites and tools. Kineration is not responsible for the privacy, security, or content practices of third parties.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Kineration may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When material changes are made, Kineration will update the "Last Updated" date and provide additional notice where required by law.

17. Contact Information

Kineration uses essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and improve the app experience. By continuing to use Kineration, you agree to our Privacy Policy.
